Studio Ceramics

I make a range of one-off and limited edition ceramic vessels using a combination of Raku and smoke-firing techniques. These vessels are decorated with fumed copper lustre glazes in a variety of textures, sometimes applied in geometric patterns. I try to harmoniously combine the discipline of classical shapes with the unpredictable colour development resulting from fuming copper glazes in turbulent smoke. Slip-casting enables me to make very thin, delicate pots that are nevertheless strong enough to withstand the thermal shock inherent to the Raku process.

I'm referenced in British Studio Potter’s Marks (Yates-Owen & Fournier, 1999) p 388.
